Objective
Google I/O Connect India is Google's flagship developer event for the Indian market — bringing together software engineers, AI researchers, startup founders, and technology leaders to experience the latest from Google's AI ecosystem. Our mandate was to localise and adapt Google's AI infrastructure so that Indian developers could build high-performance, low-latency, locally compliant solutions.
The event needed to promote the scale of India's Android/Play ecosystem and app economy, and tie that context into the wider story of India's ₹4 lakh crore app-economy impact — all while making 1,800+ developers feel genuinely inspired to build the next wave of AI innovation.
Approach
We designed an in-person developer event in Bengaluru featuring interactive sessions, live demos and partner showcases, aimed at roughly 1,800 developers. The spatial strategy created distinct experience zones — a main conference stage for keynotes, AI model demo stations, startup showcase floors, and intimate roundtable spaces — each with its own character while remaining part of a cohesive event world.
A signature installation — the AI Cricket experience — fused Google's AI capabilities with India's most beloved sport, creating the most talked-about moment of the event and drawing hundreds of attendees into a queue.
Execution
The Bengaluru event featured keynotes, AI model demos — including Gemini and Gemma — startup showcases, and the launch of new tools like Firebase Studio and the Google Play × Unity game-dev programme. Google also announced local Gemini 2.5 Flash processing.
Our production team managed complete venue transformation across a large multi-hall conference centre — including the Android Stage, Community Lounge, Demo Zone, and dedicated Meetups & Roundtable areas. On the day, our ground crew ensured flawless speaker transitions, live demo coordination, and a real-time social media content operation that helped the event trend under #GoogleIOConnectIndia and #BuildWithAI.
Results
The event was a milestone in Google's mission to empower Indian developers and startups to lead the next wave of AI innovation. It drew large participation from developers, startups and technology leaders, generating significant buzz across media and social platforms. Google I/O Bengaluru trended across social media with thousands of online interactions.
